Nice sweet fruit, with lots of black cherry, blackberry, mocha and a round, easy texture. Ripe and very forward, this focuses on clean, modern fruit. Pure and delicious.
This wine is great with hearty stews, chicken or beef in red sauce, and roasted quail.

History:
The tradition of Bodega Norton began in 1895 when Englishman Sir Edmund James Palmer Norton established a winery in Mendoza, in the foothills of the Andes, an area today knows as Argentina''''s leading wine-growing region.
In 1989 prominent Austrian businessman Gernot Langes-Swarovski (of the Swarovski Crystal family) purchased Bodega Norton. Today his son Michael manages the winery and 1265 hectares of estate vineyards with a team focused on modernizing and expanding the winery while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Norton''''s flagship wine, Privada is a blend of three classic Bordeaux varieties: Merlot, Cabernet and Malbec and leads a portfolio of quality, unique Argentinean wines.

Praise:
"Norton Privada is a Bordeaux-style wine that ages very well in bottle, serving to demonstrate very clearly the long-term potential of the winery." - (James Halliday, Winepros website)
Perdriel Single Vineyard Mendoza 2001: 92 points - "This is a tightly wound and heavily toasted wine, but there''''s a terrific beam of racy raspberry ganache and blackberry compote flavors at its core. Long and powerful through the finish and driven by ripe acidity, this should blossom after some cellaring. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec" - (James Molesworth, Wine Spectator)
